The lights have been up on the house for about a week now.  We are the only house in our row that has lights up, so they look extra awesome.

There are seven 25' lengths of C7 bulbs and three 25' lengths of mini-lights on the railings and bushes.  We will be adding more lights to the bushes soon.  The lights are controlled through a digital timer that is plugged into a 20 amp circuit by the front door.  They all turn on at 4:30 in the afternoon and turn off at midnight.  They turn back on at 4:45am and turn back off at 7:00am.

We are getting close to finishing the drywall on the second floor.  The remainder of the materials needed to finish the data wiring will be arriving soon.  After the drywall and the data wiring, we will be complete on the second floor and be able to completely move into at least one of the three floors for now.

What We've Been Up to

We've been really busy since the end of September.  We closed on our house September 28th and got to work with the renovations.  But not before we had to deal with getting the Jetta repaired since we were rear-ended on our way to close on the house.  That's the second time that car has been rear ended, poor Jetta.  Everyone involved in the accident was fine, thankfully the teens insurance paid the $6000 of repairs. David's dad came up from GA to stay for a week to help with rewiring the house.  He ended up staying for 5 weeks and we are so grateful for is help.  We also demolished the kitchen with the help of my brother and FIL.  The renovations are coming along slowly but surely.  I can't wait for it all to be done!  School has been keeping me busy with test after test. This semester has definitely been challenging and I can't wait for it to be over.

And.......last but not least baby Spencer will make His/Her debut sometime around June 4th, 2012. We are super excited about this next chapter in our life. Baby has perfect timing. I'll be done with my 2nd year of Pharmacy School at the beginning of May and will have to work for 2 weeks in a Hospital Pharmacy.  I'll have just enough time to squeeze that in before baby makes his/her appearance. My summer labs take place at the end of July and baby will be about a month or so old when that takes place.  Then I will have the rest of the summer to "relax" and enjoy spending some quality time with baby before my last year of classes starts in August.

Bye Bye Summer!

Time has flown by so fast these last few months. We were busy running around the country and getting things ready to move.  After leaving Texas I went back to stay with my family, which is where we are now until the end of the month.  In May I finished my first year of pharmacy school and took a compounding course in Houston with some of my classmates.  It was lots of fun.
David went to CA and went on a mountaineering trip to Mount Shasta with his brother, my brother Jeff, his friend Chris, his dad and some of his dad's buddies.  They unfortunately didn't make it to the top but they all made it down safely.
In June I had my summer labs at school and an immunization course (I can officially vaccinate people!).

David and I attended a wedding of one of his buddies.
In July we made several trips from PA to GA getting things ready to move.  At the end of July we finally had orders and packed all of our stuff onto a truck from the storage unit it was in and moved it into another storage unit up in MD.  In August we finally found our first house, (We sign all the paperwork at the end of the month and it is officially ours!)
I attended the wedding of one of my childhood friends in Canada and got to visit my brothers, I started my 2nd year of Pharmacy School and David started working at his new unit.

This month is going to be busy with me having tests every week for school and us finally closing on our first house.

Disney, Texas, and other things

Since my last update David has returned home from another deployment. I turned 25 yrs old. I ran the Disney Princess Half Marathon with LLS, my  mom, my sister, and David.  We all finished and had a great time. David and I visited all the Disney parks.  We are currently in Texas while David does some training.  We leave here at the end of the month and he returns to GA while I go back to PA to finish my finals.  These finals mark the end of my first year in pharmacy school! I'm super excited to have one year down.  2 more to go and 1 year of rotations and I'll be done!  David and I will be busy running around the country the next few months. David is going on a trip to CA to climb Mt. Shasta with a few of his friends (my brother included), his dad, brother, and some of his dad's friends. They will have a blast!  I will be heading to Houston,TX at the same time as David leaves for CA to take a compounding course. I'll be staying with one of my classmates who is also a member of my church. (Want to know more about it click on the "I'm a Mormon" button on the right).  After our separate trips we will meet up to go to a wedding in Indiana.  In June I head out to Creighton for a few weeks to do my labs for school and take an Immunization course.  I can't wait to see all my distance classmates again. We've been chatting up a storm on Facebook so it will be nice to see them in person again.  We definitely help each other out a ton and I'm super grateful for technology that allows us to communicate and study together.  David and I will be moving sometime this summer to Maryland. We are in the process of looking for a house to purchase. I'm super excited that we will be homeowner's!  Since being here in TX we have spent a lot of time going to the different cities. We've been to Austin a few times, Dallas, San Antonio and I have been to Houston. We ran the Rockin' Roll Dallas Half Marathon and I made a new PR, 2hour and 18 mins! We did an Austin Dash which was fun but could have been better.  Last weekend we went to San Antonio and ran a 10k. This weekend we are going to San Antonio again so I can attend a pharmacy meeting (requirement for school).  Other than our exciting adventures school has been keeping me super busy with test after test. Thankfully I only have one more before finals and I can't wait for it to be over! I need a summer vacation!

Another Move

December was a very stressful month, I had finals, packing, moving, and clearing out the apartment and planning for Christmas. I had final exams Dec. 13-17. I gave notice to my apartment complex that we were moving out on Dec. 20th so that I would have time to pack, clean, and move but also finish my exams. I made plans for the Elder's Quorum to help me move everything into storage on Dec. 18th. David is currently deployed but when he returns he has 2 months of training in Texas. After that we are planning on moving and buying a house. We decided that I would get a head start on moving since David will pretty much be gone until we officially move and we would probably end up moving in the middle of my Spring Finals, which is not an option. Since David hasn't received his orders yet I couldn't have the Army move us which meant I had to pack everything and put it in storage. Basically I got maybe 4 hours of sleep a night from the 13-19th. I studied for my exams and in between I packed up our entire apartment. Thankfully I had 2 very sweet friends from church come and help me on 2 separate occasions. Then moving day came and I had to pick up the rental truck from the storage unit and try and coordinate with 10+ people on what to put on the truck first and where to place it in the storage unit. Let's just say it was organized chaos but we managed to fit everything in the storage unit and empty the apartment. (David I am never packing/moving our stuff by "myself" again :D, love you!) After that crazy day I took a nap, woke up, ate dinner, and got to work cleaning the apartment. It took forever but I did it! Sunday morning I woke up went to Sacrament meeting since I had promised I would come say goodbye. I then went back to the apartment and finished cleaning it. Another very sweet lady from church came to my rescue and brought her vacuum cleaner. Mine was not picking up anything. She even vacuumed all my rugs for me! The apartment office closes at 4pm on Sundays and I had to either tell them to come do a final walk through that day or I would have to wait until 9am Monday to do it. I wanted to be done with the apartment and out of there ASAP since I had a 12.5 hour drive to my parents house with my busting at the seams car. My mother called me at 3:20 and I was in a panic to get the apartment done! I had 30mins and no time to talk on the phone so I started freaking out, my mom reminded me that it didn't have to be perfect and she was right. Thankfully all I had left was to make sure the bathroom was clean and the kitchen sink was clean. I literally finished at 3:50 and ran to the office since my car was so full. I got there just in time and the manager drove me to the apartment in his golf cart. Everything checked out fine with him. I signed off on a piece of paper saying all was good and turned over all our keys to him. I then had to throw away all the trash that I had left outside the apartment...which meant I had to walk it all to the garbage compactor since my car was full. I finally just took the empty box and stuck it on my car and drove the rest of the trash to the compactor. I was so exhausted, sore all over, and straving. I drove over to Wendy's and sat in their parking lot enjoying my chili, baked potato, and chocolate frosty. I decided I was too tired to drive to my parents house and drove 2 hours to my in laws and spent the night. I had such a hard time focusing on the drive up to their house I'm glad I made it in one piece! I went to bed and for once that week didn't set any alarms. I got 11 hours of sleep! I then left for my parents house and arrived around 9pm that night! I was so glad for all that to be over with! Let's just say I never want to do it again! But I did get to enjoy Christmas with my family and now I am helping my mother organize and clean up her house. There's too much stuff here and it needs to be dejunked. I finally have Jeff's old room set up the way I want it while I'm here. I plan on focusing on school work, training for my half marathon in Feb, finishing my fundraising for LLS, and working on some sewing projects. After this semester is over I am excited for us to buy our first house and start getting things settled down again. Oh the joys of moving! I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
